Was looking for a racing wheel to use on the PC and saw that Microsoft has it on sale. Looks like a pretty good beginner racing wheel for the xbox one or PC. Most other places are selling it for $200 right now.

the thrustmaster saved my marraige
The description says it comes with pedals, don't think it comes with a gear shift. Also regarding Forza if anybody is thinking of getting one for Forza Horizon games I heard wheels work bad with those due to how quickly you have to steer fast back and forth due to the arcadey feel of the game, it tires your arms. However it's supposed to be great with racing sims like the Forza Motorsport series.

So this will work without having to configure all the settings? I hate doing that on my other ps3/pc wheel. I want a wheel that works natively like the xbox controllers do.

One thing I would add for consideration if you're potentially going to be serious is the next step up, it comes with a much better wheel base

You can always upgrade the pedals to the T3PA Pro set or T3PA, and the Thrustmaster TH8A gear shift is actually on sale at MS as well right now for $98 (nm the TH8A is out of stock) Frown

Wow can't believe they made the TH8A....

That looks identical to my TH8RS. What a joke.

It comes with a basic 2 pedal set and you can upgrade (replace) the pedals to the 3 pedal set and add the shifter separately. So this is a great way to slowly build up your system which is what I did with this wheel.

Yes, however I would start with the better base (the TX one) instead of this one.

They are pretty much identical. However, the TH8A has a direct connect cable to thrustmaster wheels apparently. Looking into it, instead of having to the plug in the TH8RS into the console, you can direct plug the TH8A into the TX series wheels. Freeing up a port on your console and making the cable routing easier. Seems like a good upgrade to me

Even if they made a new model that looks identical, why is that "a joke"?

Regarding my earlier post, here's an article that does a good job laying out the differences between the TMX and TX wheel base (obviously TX is more pricey, so that's a definite consideration as well)
