Jet.com has lowered the price on the EVGA - 08G-P4-5173-KR to $357 when you opt out of free returns and apply new customer code SHOP10. Save more with a debit card, although personally I feel that it's not worth losing out on credit card price/warranty protection.

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 SC GAMING ACX 3.0 Black Edition Graphic Card
Core Clock 1594 MHz
Boost Clock 1784 MHz

Get 5% Cash Back (~$17) on this if you use the iBotta app to unlock the discount and buy through the Jet App.

Original credit for finding this specific card goes to user mtx1212 in the FP Zotac 1070 thread. It quickly rose in price by $50, but when I checked this morning I noticed it dropped back down, so I figured it warranted it's own thread.

Notes: Not officially eligible for the Gears of War promotion, although some have had some luck - I wouldn't count on it. Also, no back plate on this card.
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

heat dissipation might be worse. the really high end cards don't really do this though. the backplates are for preventing flex on the cards when they hang on a standard vertical case. Cause the motherboard's pci e slot and the rear panel are what hold a card, but the heavy cards have enough weight that they can flex on one corner unless you got that backplate to hold its flat form

I really wish the online sales tax debacle would get settled. I get excited when I see these prices only to remember that they charge tax in NY.

does the back plate on a GPU really matter? Apart from the aesthetics does it really do anything in terms of heat dissipation?

Thanks, updated the post (but can't update the title.) Not sure where you can get a backplate for it, though.

Don't forget about the topic title as well nod

Edit: Just seen you said you cant update title.

I found a backplate but it negates the deal. $40 for it. Many colors. Might as well buy the non black edition if you want a backplate since its $399 anyways and 357+40 = 397. You would get the white LED's + backplate on non black edition.
Here is the link: http://www.v1tech.com/shop/backpl...ackplates/

Edit2: We are getting warmer. There is a $25 version as well. It has no holes, the the original backplate does for better airflow. http://www.v1tech.com/shop/backpl...ackplates/
and this is a picture of what the original backplates look like: https://www.techpowerup.com/img/16-06-03/59d.jpg

Note: The backplate are acrylic, not metal. They keep the card straight but worsen the heat.

I didn't see the 5% cb after using ibotta app and launching/buying through the jet app? Got an additional 8$ with opting out of free returns tho.

EDIT: Didn't realize it doesn't show up in jet but does through an email.

Hmm, did you unlock the 5% offer in ibotta, then click through to launch the app, then purchase and checked out using the jet.com app? I did that, and saw my pending cashback immediately after (got an email as well.)

The short answer is no. The detailed answer is:
No. I have the Gigabyte Windforce OC GTX 1070, cheapest 1070 at launch (no backplate) at $399 - 2000 mhz base and 2137 OC (attained with a modest +100 mhz Afterburner tune) and its in a stock Dell XPS case (not the best airflow) and the card never uses above 50% fan capacity and never goes above 67 Celsius. The days of seeing an actual performance gain from "premium" cards are over, as the native efficiency of Pascal mitigates benefits of premium fans/power delivery/backplate etc.

Glad I didn't spend extra on 1080 as I almost did, because my 2000 mhz 1070 pulls off 4k gaming in max settings for most modern games at 60 fps. Only Witcher 3 maxed at 4k drops frames to a still more than playable 40-45 range.

is the difference in case clock (almost 400mhz )noticeable between these cards?
