I believe so. I have the Verizon variant (VS985) and it worked very well with carriers like Vodafone and etisalat overseas

Does your 'I believe so' include the 'Work with TMobile' portion of that question?

Freedompop used to be a great source of cheaper CPO phones that could be unlocked with a phone call to their customer service and brought to RingPlus and others. Now, they won't release until they've been with the carrier for 6 months?

It is amazing to me how well LG G3's have held (or even gone up) in value in 2016.

I'm in the market for another one, but I'm looking for unlocked or ready for R+ activation immediately.

I bought this phone about a year ago for $180 refurbished on eBay. Good phone for the most part. Unfortunately, mine suffers from a known hardware defect that affects other G3 phones as well. Namely, headphones are often misidentified as headsets by the phonw, resulting in extremely frustrating occurrences when your headphones are plugged in. Songs will skip or pause. Voice detection will be triggered and interrupt what you are listening to. It was unbearable at first, but I did find a fix that improved the situation a bit.

I have a G3. Loved it until recently. Despite taking excellent care if the device it has developed an issue where the screen flickers and fades to black. Digitizer still accepts input but you can't see the screen. Solutions include opening up the device and putting folded paper over the heat sink to baking the main board in the oven. I've added pressure to the heat sink which worked for a while but has stopped being effective. Not quite ready to bake the card. G4s I hear have a similar defect except instead of the screen going dark they go into an infinite reboot. I'd warn any off these devices.

Would those eBay ones work? There are lots of good condition ones (Sprint) at $100-ish level and I don't think FED affect Sprint branded postpaid phones.

I've had the d850 for a little over 2 years now and it's still awesome! I never keep phones more than 2 years but I have no reason to buy a new one yet. With the amount of custom roms and support for this phone, combined with the recent front page battery and charging cradle I'm good for at least another year! Great phone!

trying to look up the cradle. might be a dumb question but does it charge the battery in the phone (versus just charging the battery after it's removed)? wirelessly or is there a connection you need to make when setting it there?

seems like a decent combo option. locked to FP is lame though, hopefully this could be used with a GSM carrier immediately, but maybe the sprint version doesn't have the correct bands for GSM LTE... for R+, I have an account but I also assume that would mean this could only be used 6 months later, but on the free plan for 6 months if the waiting game is appealing.

any word on Nougat on this? the Cnet article about this deal made it seem likely
