$100 for a 500GB hybrid drive is a horrible price.

Great deal for 2012. Oh, wait, it's 2016. Not a good deal.
BTW if you go the Dell site, the picture they use is wrong. It actually shows this SSD [dell.com] which is truly an SSD, and sells for, wait for it, $499.
Now again, for 2012, selling an SSD for $1/GB was probably a good deal. But in 2016, you'd expect to pay $100-$150 for a 512G SSD. For a "hybrid" drive (which is just a regular hard-drive with a small flash-memory area that helps performance in limited circumstances), it's a truly abysmal deal. (perhaps the first time I've used that word in a SlickDeals post).

Yeah, but to be fair to OP, it doesn't help that Dell's site has the wrong image posted.

I am confused. Why is this thumbs down?

I ordered a laptop with 500 SSD with 8 gb Flash and isn't THIS THE SAME THING AS that?

500 SSD SSD with 8 gb flash?

Is this better than 256 SSD? in terms of value.

Performance, speed, read/write/storage and durability?

Seeing as how there are 480GB SSDs just around the $100 Price point, this is a horrible deal.

the ssd. it isnt even a comparison.

you should be able to find 256ssd's for under 75.

480-512gb ssd's are going for around 100-120

good info. thanks

They advertised 500 SD with 8 GB of flash on their outlet sometimes too. Is this the same as this product that the OP posted?
