Nice price for these highly rated knives and it's $2.50 lower than the previous Frontpage deal from April, but doesn't include a $25 Macy's gift card this time. -Corwin

These are J.A. Henkles' sort of "middle of the road" line. The Signature and Pro lines are nicer, and the 4-star and International lines are lower quality. Preferably you'd want these German knives made in Germany for quality control, but these are still made in Europe.

For around $100 this is definitely a quality set of knives, but don't expect "knife aficionados" to be impressed by them.

Before dropping $100+ on a bunch of knives you won't use, invest that money into quality knives that will last. You really only need three knives: 8" chef, paring/petty knife, and a serrated trimmer. This setup will allow you to prep everything in the kitchen, unless you are a pro. The site www.chefknivestogo.com is a good place to start. Tojiro knives offer a great value to start. Also, go to a knife shop or Sonoma-Williams and demo the German and Japanese knives. This lets you slice and cut with quality knives. It also allows you to decide which kind of handle and blade feels best in your hand. For those on a budget, the Victorinox Chef's knife is a great value under $35. It goes on sale from time to time on here.

Wait a minute. Why do both you and your roommate need separate knife sets? Serial killers?

So coupon says "exclusions apply" but no link to see exclusions...I'm trying to order a different Henckel knife set, coupon doesn't work.

Very nice knives. Not dishwasher safe. Well worth the money. Expensive to buy extra knives but usually room in the block for more.

Zwilling is a good brand knife right? At this price I'm going to assume it's a great home cooking knife
