Dish Network

Fla. 3 10 September 28, 2016 at 07:44 PM
I live in Fl., and have a second home in Ga., took my Dish Network receiver to Ga. for our stay, you have to call Dish and have them change your service from Fl. to the Ga. address, had a Dish Instillation teck show me how to take my remote for the receiver and change the address location without having to call Dish and go through that B.S, does anyone out their knows how to change locations, I have forgotten how to do it.

I don't think you need to do anything the zip is for pointing the dish which hopefully you have already done?

Not sure what you will get for local channels but that is not something you can change on your own.

This is what you were asking for:
Hopefully, your dish will have a view to the south and southwest without obstructions. That is the general direction you will want.

On your HD receiver, press menu on the remote then 6-1-1 and plug in your new zip code. That should get you going with some info you need.

Can't speak for DISH, but on DirecTV you have to call and manually change your location as the local channels are sent just like other programming (HBO, etc). The local channels for your area have to be "turned on". Its not as simple as putting a new zip code in the receiver. You also have to be in the spot beam for that area's local channels.

DISH could be totally different but I think that is what the OP is asking.
