250.00
By selecting this service bundle you will be charged $250.00. It includes twelve months of unlimited, nationwide 4G LTE wireless Internet service, plus a Mobile Hotspot. Based upon availability it will either be a Netgear Fuse Mobile Hotspot, or a Franklin R850 Mobile Hotspot.

The bundle comes with a 30-day satisfaction guarantee.

The Mobile Hotspot provides your 4G LTE wireless Internet connection at home and on-the-go for up to 10 WiFi-enabled devices.

IMPORTANT TO KNOW:

You will receive an electronic invoice in 11 months, due within 15 days of receipt, to continue your service for another twelve months. That invoice will be for only $168.00. Please notify us immediately if you want to change your payment schedule to either semi-annual ($90.00), quarterly ($48.00), or bi-monthly ($36.00).

With advanced built-in security options, you have the full control over who shares your connection so that your data stays protected no matter where you go. It comes with a limited one year manufacturer's warranty.

Based upon availability you will receive either a Netgear Fuse Mobile Hotspot or a Franklin R850 Mobile Hotspot with your membership.

For legal reasons, we can't call it unlimited data service, but..... We are supposed to refer to it as 30 GB+.. however when you pass the 30GB mark during the month, the Internet service does not slow down (throttle), or cut you off, and there are NO overage charges.

The plan only works in the USA in Sprint's 4G/LTE service area (see instructions to check the map below). It does not include off-network roaming, and it is subject to any standard network management that Sprint may apply to commercial broadband data-only account users.

When you become a member you help Calyx become self-sustaining and pay its data center bills, keep our Tor nodes going, keep our Jabber service free, keep our free VPN test-bed going, and help us continue to innovate in terms of free educational materials and security services we offer to the public.

looks like the 4G runs on Clearwire's WiMAX network. Does anyone have any experience with speeds/service? Nice project though, and nice extra benefit.

No, WiMax has been closed and Sprint has LTE only. The speed is about 20mpbs to 80mpbs .

I would think of this as a pledge drive. Supporting the Calyx Institute should be your top priority, and this happens to be a "free gift" that they include to their supporters. I highly doubt that they have actually secured enough data to satisfy some of the more creative downloaders' needs. They are probably hoping that most of their supporters will use the device sparingly.

Is it capped at 30gb per year? Or less than 3gb per month?

Well if Sprint covers my rural area this could be what I need as my only options for internet currently are Sat and cell. I have Verizon 30gb plan with hotspot for over 130.00 for my normal internet usage and Cricket unlimited for cell phone and to stream Shows which I do a lot with sling TV. Heading back to sat tv with splitting the bill with room mate so will not need sling tv anymore so this could be just what I need for all other internet needs.

Just need a cheap and easy way to find out if sprint covers my home well.

No 30gb + per month. The claim on the site is not throttle no disconnection after 30Gb but they have not been with sprint long enough to see what happens long term for high data usage
