Just fyi this is the "old" one with a known defect. You'll want to also order the "Universal Pressure Washer Garden Hose Quick-Connect Kit" found in the "Frequently Bought Together" section to replace the defective plastic one the manufacturer gives you. This is all set out in the Amazon Reviews.

The "new" SPX3001 fixes that issue and also:

- Costs $179
- Same 2030 PSI at 1.76GPM as the SPX3000
- Adds a Hose Reel
- The soap tank is larger (40.6 fl oz) but you only have one (instead of two 30 fl oz soap tanks)
- Same 20ft hose and 35 foot power cord

So the SPX3000 with the Universal Connect Kit costs around $129.09 shipped. The SPX3001 costs $179 or $49.91 more. In my opinion while the SPX3001 is an improvement (for the hose reel and fix), the loss of soap tank capacity hurts it. I'd likely get this deal for $129.09 inc. Universal Connect Kit and save the money.

Just my 2c.
Incorrect information. The defect has been addressed mid 2015. All model including the one I got in July had the issue addressed. No need to order any adapters.

No need to upgrade. Just give them a call and they will send the new quick connect piece.

Also got it from HD. They took $10 off too since the box arrived open. A bit of a learning curve but I was able to get a lot done with it already. A good SDer should have got it then. $13 more (or $23 in my case) is not insignificant.

Same here, got the "new" quick connect. Sort of like the 2 bottles, though I've only used one.

So the SPX3001 doesn't have the issue where everyone is buying/or requesting a quick connect adapter? I have the SPX3001 but still have it in the box yet, got it a while ago but haven't gotten around to use it, just opened it up to make sure everything was there. I was going to buy one of those quick connect things, but maybe now I don't need to.

Will probably try it out this Saturday to wash my car. Can the pressure be lowered on this if needed? I have a clear bra thing on my car and don't want it to get damaged/lifted on the edges.

Is it true that the manufacturer requires you to register the product first before they will send you the replacement piece?

Thanks! My old pressure washer died and I needed a replacement. This one gets decent CR reviews and I added the "Sun Joe SPX-PCA10 10-Inch Surface, Deck and Patio Cleaning Attachment" for 19.99 more. I had a similar attachment on my previous washer and it really speeds cleaning a deck or driveway.

According to some reviewers the brass piece is now included.

Great machine. I have 2 gas powered pressure washers that will not start. I could fix them but why bother when an electric one can do a similar job of cleaning with a simple electric motor. I paid more, I didn't wait for a deal like a good SD'er, but I don't even care as it saves so much hassle. It's one of those things you get and then think "why didn't I already have this".

A friend said this would not be good for a two story house. Thoughts?
