It's a USB C cable ... it can charge anything that has USB C.

It's not backwards compatible (without an adapter) with Micro USB and it's not backwards compatible (without an adapter) to USB-A (the standard USB type that plugs INTO the computer itself), so if you don't have anything with a USB C socket, there really isn't any reason for you to look at this, unless you're planning on buying one in the near future and want the cheap cables.

For me, my phone uses USB C, so that's what I use it for.

This is my second order of these cables and I've found them to be good with no problems. Handles the full 3A fast charge on the Nexus 6P. I don't use them for data transfers since I don't have a USB C port on my computers, so I can't speak to that.

So close to jumping but not ready to commit to do USB C to C only. Have too many USB A outlets right now. Quick Charge is non needed with how long these batteries last. Not to mention the phones charge to full in like 1 hour anyway.

Caution.... I bought this cable and it does not support rapid charging. This was the reply to my review on Amazon.. "Only will i suggest you, pls use Type C - Type C cable if you want charging rapidly not just charging."

USB-C is multipurpose, but you have to be careful with buying reliable a USB-C cable and charger, which is kind of difficult for consumers at this point imo. Anker recently had to recall [androidpolice.com] their Powerline USB-C cable because it would "remember" the voltage when it was plugged to a laptop (19V) and then the user goes to plug it on their phone which required 5V, which would destroy the phone. And Anker is regarded as one of the best brand for this kind of stuff.

There is a case of faulty USB-C chargers that send electricity down the cable at all time even when it's not plugged to a device, such as the official Nexus 6P charger.

I think this Tronsmart cable is good though, I use it myself.

Good deal. I want to echo the concern about rapid charging with any USB C cable, and also make sure you get a USB 3.0 model if that's important to you.
