My local Wal-Mart has several HP Stream 11.6" laptops for sale at $49.00 each. Both blue and violet were available.

This model shows up as out of stock on the Wal-mart website, so YMMV.

Those are ones stored under the retail shelf and almost always were display units and have missing batteries/cords/keys/etc

A local WM shows to have 3 for the clearance price. Will give it a try in a few hours.

Not the case here. There were about six unopened boxes under the retail shelf.

In for a pit stop (while out tomorrow) to check my store. Repped regardless OP!
This would make a basic now and then portable tweener. The 10 inch is a little small for me. (TWSS)

Watch out if you're thinking of just storing this for weeks at a time, I'm seeing HP laptops have issues with battery drain while powered off. The battery on this is not removable, and I've had a 2015 HP Stream 13 (nonremovable) and a 2016 HP laptop (removable battery), and there's a 1.5-2% per day battery drop even when completely powered off, on both units. If the battery is removed drain is <0.5% per day, same as pretty much all my other lithium battery electronics, including other brand laptops and tablets in Android and Windows, with battery left installed.

The laptop is still usable, but the battery drain can be annoying if you just want to closet this for 2+ weeks between uses and then just grab and go, as well as increasing the risk of shortened battery life if the battery is left <40% charge too long (or left charging all the time).

I was a fan of 2GB 32GB Windows 10 laptops in 2015, but with all the updates that hit the storage, as well as multimedia browsing, I think it's time to set the bar at 4GB RAM 64GB storage, even if it costs at least $100 (and more likely $150 or more), even if you just want an Android / ChromeOS / iPad alternative.
