Awesome deal. Missed one about a month back for the same price. Got it this time!
It's perfect for my little trunk.

Thanks OP!

Seems like a good deal, but amazon reviews leave me wary. Possibly a high failure rate. Just FYI.

You are right ! I got this last year from Harman Kardon and it blew after just over a year. Since warranty is just 1 yr, they couldnt really help me. Would stay away from this.

Had this years ago and it has very little bass output. I wouldn't bother with this if you're looking for something with some kick.

I have this and the bass kick is rather punchy if you set it up right. The rotary control for the crossover needs to be adjusted more frequently than I like but the bass is ever present. Good deal OP. Just a reminder for anyone thinking of quality issues. The amplifier will shut down if damage to the speaker is eminent. This is a thermal fuse that will mend its condition after a bit of time.

I've had one of these in my civic for a decade. Not bad at all. I'm not someone looking to keep my neighbor's awake for my automobile arrival, so it does the job for me.

p.s. I can't speak on the reliability of THESE units, but mine has been flawless for quite some time.

Be warned, these are NOTORIOUS for failing after a few months.

A lot of reviews report problems, with the 3 most common being:

* Failing to turn off, thus killing the battery
* Popping and VMax'ing randomly, even when the radio is off
* Not powering on

Good luck with that.... I guess it didn't occur to you that there is a REASON there are so many refurbs of this unit available.

Is the warranty 1 year on the refurbished one as well?

Yep, which is about the maximum amount of time you can expect this to work properly.

I had this way back in the day... I had it for a good 8 years in my car and never failed on me.. left it in the car when I sold it... def need an aftermarket deck to get it to sound good... don't expect much with an OEM deck... def worth the $100 imho.. thumbs up for me

As a heads up, I'm betting a lot of the "won't turn off" or "random plays super loud even with source unit off" complaints can be attributed to the "auto turn-on" feature. If you'll view the side photo they have posted, you'll see the switch. With the switch in the off position, you'll need to supply a +12V source to the REM input for the unit to turn on. This is usually the REM wire from an aftermarket radio. If you don't have an aftermarket radio, then it's any ignition or accessory wire in the car (something that's only on with the key is on). BUT, with that switch in the on position, the unit senses when audio is present and turns itself on. The problem with this is when you're using those speaker-level inputs (labeled as "universal interface"). ANY movement of the speaker induces voltage on the speaker wires, which is often enough to turn the unit on/keep the unit on. And once the unit is on, that tiny movement will be amplified and the sub will buzz....which is usually enough to move the door speakers a tiny bit, keeping the unit and and providing more signal to be amplified out.

Common problem on many car audio products and has been for years. Many manufacturers have removed audio turn-on abilities or at least provide a third option of DC offset or something.

Ha, true dat! It was this or the Kicker SubStation. I opted for a Fosgate Punch Power DVC back then, however.
