The no warranty is a bit worrisome. Can one be purchased separately?

The HDX are so much better than their current tablets. I wish they make a high end version of their Fire again. Mad

I've had "acceptable" condition come in like it came off the production line.

I have never seen so many 1 star reviews (recently reviewed) for an amazon product. Went through 50 reviews before I quit

What sucks is Amazon has completely bailed on the HDX line, no new fire OS versions even though the hardware is much more powerful than the current Fire tablets.

Same here. I've bought tons of items from Warehouse Deals for just about every condition. To date, I've never received anything that actually looked or operated like it was "used". In fact, I haven't seen any of the cosmetic damage to the item that is listed in the description. The only difference has been that sometimes it is in the original packaging and sometimes it isn't.

For stuff like this that they don't make anymore, the condition is often related to the age of the device. I bought a 7" HDX a couple of years ago for cheap in 'good' condition. It was cosmetically perfect, but the device itself was about 2 years old and had plenty of use. Short battery life.

I was an all-in amazon guy for years. I bought their tablets. I bought the fire phone, which was nice after you hacked in the Play store and regular Now launcher. Now I find that they abandon their hardware very quickly compared to google and apple. Considering how few platforms they've put out, there isn't any reason for them to have saved a few bucks and forced people to upgrade.

At this point my 8.9 is a couple of OS revisions back at 3.x. My ~3 year old HDX is stuck at 4.x. My two new crappy 6 and 7" tabs from a little over a year ago still get updates but they're both slower, have worse screens and lesser specs than the 3 year old HDX.

So consider that this is already abandoned and back one rev on the OS, and it won't get any more security or feature updates. $200 is a lot for a 2 year old used, abandoned tablet.
