Let me fill you in.

The elephant in the room is the price. $649 for a 5 inch 32GB phone is a joke, especially considering how many great $400 phones are out there right now. Nothing about these new phones screams innovation. They are basically rehashed HTC 10's with just a minor spec bump in the SoC department. They are squarely aiming this at Apple and are gonna fail. This is not what made people fans of the previous Nexus lineup in the first place.

I own this phone, also just bought another one for wife.

The case I use with this is unique in that the modular portion of the phone is removable - with the case on. Spigen Style Armor for G5.

I have found with this case in particular, doing the battery swap method makes this phone stand on its own. I did battery swaps on older phones with removable backs and the issue with those is if you want phone protection, no case exists that allows you to remove the battery while the case is still on the phone. There are outliers to that, but you get the point.

With this phone and case you can be at 1% battery and go to 100% in about 15 seconds with most of the time involved being the reboot.

This phone catches all sorts of flak... and I don't understand any of it. This is the best phone I have ever owned hands down. But for people that don't want to swap batteries... I don't know. Any other flagship phone competes at that point. I recommend swapping batteries. Hell I even dust covered my charge port - have never had to use it once.

If anyone reads this and gets the phone and is disappointed, that on you. I am telling you my experience. Yours will inevitably be different.

There is one other case I am aware of for the G5 that allows battery swaps with case intact, but it is more like a wrap or cover. Less protection, but a fairly unique and cool looking case nonetheless.

I wish all case manufacturers weren't lazy and made cases that allowed users to use their phones as intended. Frown

Yes. I have 2 of these both running on Cricket, which use AT&T towers. Its solid on AT&T.

Actually what differentiates this model from other G5 models is that it has most every band possible. It can also run on Verizon, and T-Mobile. It has the Sprint bands, but I think Sprint blocks it for whatever dumb reason.
