I'd wager that if you're really serious what matters is color accuracy and gamut coverage regardless of the resolution. I'm not saying Ive looked up this display but just pointing out that your comment is retarded.

Out of all the things that make a display appropriate for photo work, resolution is pretty low on the list.

register an EPP account, and go to this laptop, the price will drop to $653

and if you buy discounted HP gift cards from abcgiftcards etc, you can get the laptop for about $580

Looks like a great work laptop. Not a great gaming machine but this is an "ultrabook?"

Everything on this laptop is top-notch except for the video card, but cant you just purchase a video to put into this laptop?

would this be a good choice for me where the most intensive program I use is Lightroom? Or are there cheaper options that would function just as well for that use?

Does the USB 3.1 support Thunderbolt so an external graphics amplifier, or such, can be used?
Confused
Not sayin' I'd want to hook up an Oculus Rift or anything....

Regardless of how "intensive" it is, how could you be serious about Lightroom and not have a 4K display?
wow, you sure burned me. thanks for the ever so helpful advice, you tool. all those poor bastards who are actually professionals who used LR for years (and still do) without a 4k display. how did they manage?!
