BTW in case you haven't heard, there's a great deal on flights to the Caribbean right now. Some of the flights have overnight layovers though, but it may end up working out for you (if you want to spend time in the layover cities, mostly Charlotte, Miami). Starting in the low $200's RT, works from SF, Seattle, DC, NY, Detroit, Denver, Cleveland, Minneapolis, Charlotte, Dallas, Boston, etc.

Get to: St. Lucia, Aruba, Bahamas, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Turks & Caicos, Antigua/Barbuda, St. Kitts.

Example: SFO-AUA, 10/26-11/2, $239 RT - https://www.google.com/flights/?f...2016-11-02

** You can sweeten the deal if you have a premium card like the Chase Sapphire Reserve (CSR), AMEX Platinum, etc. For example with the CSR your points are worth 1.5¢ each instead of just 1¢. So a $240 RT flight to Aruba would normally cost 24000 points (already a great deal), but with the CSR you would only pay 24000/1.5 = 16,000 points! And another good thing is that you will still earn miles on your trip even though you purchased it with points because Chase would essentially be paying American Airlines for your flight, so technically it's a paid flight not a mileage flight. So at the end of the day you spend 16k points for a RT flight to the Caribbean and you still earn about 8400 miles with whatever airline you can credit your flight to at 100%. Lastly you could also use part of your $300 airfare credit with the CSR to pay for this flight. shake head

Does the flight have to be Booked to fly within a certain time frame or can it be booked for a much later date?

Isn't there a hurricane hitting these places right now?

There no Zika in the winter because mosquitos aren't around, though I'm not sure if Caribbean has fall/winter.

Clearly you've never been to the Caribbean? We've been to St Thomas numerous times, Puerto Rico, and Aruba. There is no such thing as "winter" there.

decent find OP - these deals pop up the same time around hurricane season every year for the last like 15 years. Nothing special here, but thanks for sharing!

Are you or your female SO planning on getting pregnant soon? If you don't answer yes to that then you're fear mongering. West Nile is much more dangerous than Zika, good lord.

Saw this last night and it would be a sweet deal if everything didn't have 18+ hour layovers in Miami.

that's the point, going during winter to the Caribbean is still a very nice weather, doesn't get cold in most places
