Best Buy has the components to make the Pioneer Andrew Jones 5.1 Home Theater package on clearance for $485 + tax.

The prices I received do not match the website, so YMMV. Regular price for the components comes out to $650 at Best Buy. The complete set is currently $640 on Amazon. I have listed the prices I received below.

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/pione...Id=5086937 - $103.99 (each)

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/pione...Id=5086955 - $94.99 (pair)

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/pione...Id=5086891 - $69.99

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/pione...Id=5086873 - $111.99
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

I've been looking at getting these or the Elacs(b6's and towers) ... anyone have an opinion if the Elacs are worth the extra cost?
edit: using it mostly for home theater.

I got F6 a few days ago. Love it. Smooth and sweet in mid-range. Totally Worth It!

Well, the Elacs sound a lot better. Whether they're worth the extra cost is entirely up to you though. I think for movies the Pioneers with a decent sub would be totally adequate.

Been eyeing this set but may wait for a non YMMV (seems this is in store only? ). Question though.. For the price of the sub.. Is there a better option than the Pioneer one to go with this set?

Did you get a flyer or email or something, or is this advertised in-store?

Better sub option for a similar price-

http://www.parts-express.com/dayt...r--300-629

$135 shipped- sale ends today

They also have the 15" version for $198 if you're putting it in a larger space.

You'd need to spend quite a bit more to get a much better sub (ie one that actually plays much below 25-30hz)

I actually just went to Best Buy to see if they would price match the $550 price from Pioneer's website. I was surprised to find them on clearance instead.

I'd recommend skipping the subwoofer + center if anyone is considering these.

Assume he was referring to the Dayton 1200.

it's the Dayton Sub1200

Amazon has it same price but they add $15 shipping, parts express ships free on $99+ orders.

You can try them by phone, I think it's 1-800-338-0531

The price likely depend on the store as well. I went to my local Best Buy last week and got the floor standing speakers for $90 each and the center for $70. The bookshelf speakers and sub were both MSRP though. Might go back today to check on the bookshelf prices.

I stopped by Best Buy today in Kankakee, IL to purchase the floor standing speakers and to my surprise they are marked down from $129 to $77.99.

The manager mentioned they are being phased out hence the clearance. The center speaker was $60.99 by the way.
