blower works good but battery charger requires unplugging after 30 minutes. called the company and they told me it would destroy the battery if you accidentally forget and leave it plugged in all the time.
Can someone tell me if this is true?

I don't know about that, though I can't say I have been careless often enough to know. I've been using my batteries since the start of the spring season this year and although I've never left the batteries in long after fully charged (I did leave one in overnight, once), all the lights on the charger appear to shut off after the battery is charged. Does it fully turn off? I dont know, but everything appears to be shut down at that point.

My 2.0 amp hour batteries all last as much as they did when new, which is ~an hour. I am very happy so far.

I read this same thing and feel the CSR is misinformed. most chargers have auto off and monitor the battery state etc. I'd be hard pressed that they didn't have these features. if this is the case greenworks has explaining to do.

It is generally a bad idea to keep lithium ion a a fully charged state but I can't imagine the charger continues to charge aafter full. I will have to do some testing with a meter.

I use mine in the mower and it will be at ~50% after done. I click it out of the mower so it's no longer making electrical contact and charge it prior to mowing. Takes 20 minutes or less so I charge while picking up sticks and dog toys, etc. and am on my way.

I got the 40v blower from Walmart for $35 recently. Works great, no problem leaving battery on the charger overnight.

Is the extra 40v, 70CFM, and 10 MPH worth the extra $70 bucks? Can anybody help a noob to the blower world out here? Looking to kick wet leaves out of the garden areas!

Untrue. I own 3 greenworks g-max tools- mower, brushless string trimmer, and brushless blower. I have 4 batteries- 3x 4ah and 1x 2ah. When done charging, the charging light turns from red to green and it stops charging. I've had the mower for nearly 4 years now and frequently leave batteries on overnight because I forget about them. Maybe if you do something like leave a battery on for a full week or something, it may not be good, I don't know. But nothing I've done indicates to me that leaving a battery on the charger after its charged keeps the charger continually trying to charge it.

I have to agree. I tend to forget to remove my 4ah G-Max battery for days at a time, and have never found it to hurt the run-time of my tools.

They were probably instructed to say this to blame the customers for defective batteries or shortened battery life.

By the way, I got two of these from Walmart a couple months ago on clearance for $40 each. worth it just for the extra battery and charger. I doubt any stores have it in stock anymore though
