I probably shouldn't pass judgement without playing it but the trailers just look like another GTA V remake. Not a bad thing but I have moved onto Fallout 4 mods and waiting for BF1. I'm more about the eye candy, HDR should be good in GoW and Final Fantasy XV

They definitely appear to be going after the GTA crowd but I'm not surprised with how much money Rockstar is printing with that game. I have no immediate plans to buy this game but I might as I like this game type (GTA, Far Cry, Borderlands, Red Dead) and this one might fit my needs once I catch up on some other games.

i hated gta v and this game is currently my goty after a few hours of playing. its very story driven and intense. plus it has an element of manhunt mixed in with it.

I'm only a little ways into Mafia III, but so far so good. Excellent storyline and the early part of the game really lays the groundwork for the excellent story. The A.I. isn't very good, but overall the game is fun and graphics are solid for an open world game.

Nice price; love how competition is driving prices down even only if it's for couple days (Fry's), couple weeks (Amazon), and indefinitely (GCU - paid). Not ordering from Fry's since I have my collector's edition coming in on Monday.

edit: OP you also might want to put 'Fry's" in the title description

I didn't renew my GCU from Best Buy earlier this year, mainly due to Amazon now offering the same discount on new releases with Prime. Better yet, I'm not charged tax from Amazon, so that saves a few more dollars over Best Buy prices. Only bad thing about the frys.com discount is they don;t offer it until the day the game has released, so it takes several days past that to get the game. Still yet, they offer the 20% discount without having to purchase a "membership" type thing such as GCU or Prime.

I think GCU is more useful with game sales down the line. Save a few bucks on Amiibo here or there, or a few bucks when games go down to $20/$30/$40. I dont know if Amazon matches their weekly sales.

Amazon price matches a lot of competitor deals, but not the additional 20% off. Any more Best Buy doesn't seem to offer many great deals. I used to be an elite plus member (I think thats what they called it), but they changed their program around, made it harder to accumulate rewards points and shortened their return policy. I rarely shop Best buy now unless they offer a killer deal, which rarely happens.

Amazon also offered a pre-order bonus "Family Kick-Back" for Mafia III, while Best Buy offered nothing for pre-order.

Good point. Tax and shipping (price and time) could often make or break a deal. I am fortunate to have a Fry's 10 miles from me. A bit far, so I only drive there if it's covenient or need PC components that are on sale. And for me, it really doesn't bother me if I don't get games on release day. So I can wait for a few days anyway.

I agree. Also, GCU issues $10 in rewards certificates for certain pre-orders; pre-ordering at least three games in two years will cover the cost of GCU itself. And not including the 20% off, trade-in bonuses, and extra free game swag (i.e. GoW 4 mug and coaster set).
