Hey. Last year I bought a Ultra 2.5" hard drive enclosure from Tiger Direct when it was just about free after rebate. I had no immediate need for it, but thought it might come in handy at some point.

Today I opened it up and tried to use it, only to find Win 7 can't recognize it. I tried a couple other drives in it and one other cable and all have the same result... Windows 7 telling me it thinks that USB device isn't working properly and can't be recognized.

As it was relatively cheap I had just tossed it in the trash when I stopped to remember it might still be under warranty. I looked at the scant documentation that came with the product only to find that the mentioned 'ultraproducts.com' is no longer a viable website.

So these products have no warranty at all?

I tried searching for more information, but can't find can't find much. One person on Reddit mentions Ultra told him they wouldn't be sending him a replacement PSU because they were closing. Another site shows web traffic died off most entirely around May '16.

well, is kinda bad, no? I'm not out much, but probably other people thinking they may still have warranty support. Tell the truth, I didn't know beforehand that Ultra was actually a part of, or owned by, Tiger Direct.

I was just curious if anyone here had any additional information on the subject, regarding the warranty for these past deals on Ultra products. While they essentially closed their doors, the Tiger Direct name is still in use, so not completely dead.

what wanks. How does a discussion about warranty on previous deals get two thumbs down?? This forums is for deal DISCUSSION after all.

Just looking for a little more information.. and maybe to clarify the matter for other people like me that weren't aware that Ultra products brand seems to have died with Tiger Direct.
