8x8 Canopy Shade Tech ST64 Home Depot clearance priced at $19.00 regular price is $79.00 color green only at my stores (B&M only as far as I can tell). Other colors could be up to 60% off in the clearance sections but only green was marked down at mine by the prices marked on the shelves.

Item number 157455 (Home Depot #). Link to item on their site: http://www.homedepot.com/p/Shade-.../204468529

For that price, i wouldn't even bother dismantling after a party and just put it out by the garbage.

Sale SKU looks like is 1000-018-704. I picked up a second one today for a friend and the item number on it was 150285. One box is dated 2012 and another is 2014 so probably old stock looks like.

Are you saying I don't have the means to buy a $19 canopy or the ability to throw it away after a single use? Sorry, I have more respect for the planet than that. You should, too.

i think you fail to understand that the company isnt going to suddenly MAKE more of this product based on whether i buy 5 and throw em away after use, or if i i buy 1 and someone else buys the other 4. this is a clearance item, not a stock item in which more will be ordered based on demand.

in the end, yours will one day go in the trash as well

That is some explanation. Too bad it doesn't make sense. Trump voter?

So, you have a need for a canopy. You use it and throw it away. Then a while later you have another need for a canopy so you go out and buy one. Now there are resources used to create another canopy (yes, different brand) while a perfectly good canopy was discarded and sits in a landfill somewhere. I'm sure the decomposition rate is in the thousands of years, if not millions.

Ok, for argument's sake, let's say you will never have another need for a canopy other than this one time. Fine. Ever heard of charities who accept used goods and re-sell them? And if you want to bring up supply and demand, what you are doing is decreasing the supply. However, if you maintain the same supply as before you threw yours away by giving it to a charity, then someone else who needs or wants a canopy (demand) can buy your old canopy and not put a demand on the market for a new canopy.

Too lazy to take it to a charity? Ever heard of craigslist or freecycle? You can have someone come by and take it away for you probably the same day (even better than garbage service).

Or just think of yourself and throw it in the garbage. U-S-A! U-S-A! U-S-A!

Yes, Trump fan, but irrelevant to this conversation. I am certainly not a fan of a woman who lies to the fbi, threatens her husbands rapists and panders to the american people while having proven 30 years of being unsuccessful.

Your points are valid and I accept them as a just argument to my statement. In all honesty, I was merely joking that it was a pain in the ass to take these things down (as well as put them up) and would never just "throw it away" if it was working fine.

usually if they are clearanced like this, it will say not sold in stores. But, since it is clearance, I found that they can be found in stores if you're lucky. Even the employees there do not know that, so don't let them tell you that it isn't sold in stores.
