PSA: For those who don't know, "Genuine Leather" is an industry marketing term for leather shavings that have been glued together. Although kudos to them that they actually call it "Genuine Leather." What I've seen a lot of recently is the vendor will simply say 100% leather, and when it arrives in the mail you will freqeuntly notice "Genuine Leather" stamped on the product. That is blatant false advertising, since there is a bonding agent holding the leather particles together.

What the real thing is is either top-grain or full-grain leather, but it is becoming exceedingly difficult to find products (especially belts and wallets) that aren't "Genuine Leather" without spending a fortune. Not that this isn't a terrible deal if you don't mind (though the belts are likely garbage), but if you head over to ebay and search for "handmade full-grain belt" you can find a few independent leather craftsmen who sell nice full-grain belts for under $30 shipped.

I will never buy another non-full-grain belt again. They are almost universally crap.

thats what genuine leather does. you need to buy full grain or top grain; full grain is better.

Does anyone have any experience with Kirkland full grain belts?

Can't say I do...but if you're referring to Kirkland as in a belt sold under the Costco Kirkland brand, I can say I've heard quite good things about many various products under their brand (batteries, alcohol, etc).

Not much info I know haha, but costco also has a pretty solid return/satisfaction guarantee so I'd say give it a shot if you're considering it : )

Exactly! I've bought two from Costco and they are very nice and excellent quality. Been using them couple times a week for past two years with little signs of wear holding my big belly in!

Haha, glad to hear it! Yep, Costco seems like a legit operation. I've been wanting to join for a while...used to have a membership but was always too busy to go : (

Thanks for the confirmation...now I wanna go even sooner lol! : )
