Well, this could be interesting... Sears (obviously) really really really wants you to shop there this year. The fact that it includes BF prices could make it slick, we'll have to wait and see.

Sears is introducing the Sears Holiday Guarantee: When you shop in-store during the Sears Member Bonus Event on Oct. 16, if any item purchased goes lower in the same store between that night and Dec. 24, Sears will automatically credit you the difference back in points, up to a maximum of $100 in points per member.* That includes Black Friday doorbuster pricing! [*Points awarded 1/16/17]

No idea if it includes Kmart yet.

don't shoot the messenger...

Interesting. This could work if Sears is still in business January next year...

Nah, they'll randomly shut down a bunch of accounts on Jan 15, accounts that just happen to be owed points, to avoid paying out. Rolleyes2

Not to mention you'll be well outside their 30 day return period in January, unless they start a holiday extended returns policy soon.

Not sure I trust Sears/SYW to track this one...sure, it could pay off, but I'd go into it based solely on whatever the current deal is on the item(s) in question, and just consider any payout in Jan as a nice bonus. Trying to hold them to actually paying out will be difficult, unless you stalk prices in-store yourself and capture proof via a new receipt or pics or something. With the death of LocalAd, they could easily just say "the price never dropped in store...that was an online only price"...I have no faith in them to do this right.

I think you misunderstood my post. I was implying that this likely wouldn't work out by pointing out how unlikely for Sears to still be in business next year. The keyword is, "could" instead of "can" or "will."

Meh, I just think the better way to express it would have been "this would never work even if they are still in business". laugh out loud

It was all in jest, promise...just funnin around. Smilie

The vast majority of folks that shop in the 16th won't know about the promo anyways, and will never know if they missed any points from it. Half of the folks that do know about it and try to pick itens that might go lower on bf or any time before Xmas will pick incorrectly. The few that do pick the right items will have a devil of a time proving it once Jan 16 rolls around. Sure, some points may be given out, but like any other Sears/syw promo, I'm guessing it will be riddled with glitches and problems.

They will still be in business in January, IMHO. The list of closing stores that was announced last month will be open until mid Dec, so unless they plan on shuttering up the rest of the stores with a shortened liquidation schedule, I think it's pretty safe to say they'll be around another three months. Anything longer than that is anyone's guess.

Interesting deal. I'm skeptical about the "automatically" part though... Have any Black Friday ads leaked yet?

Why would anyone do this? Just buy from a store that will refund REAL MONEY back if the price changes.
