Free multimeter and more with Harbor Freight coupons from Sunday's paper

This deal was/is true in the Seattle area. It may or may not apply to other regions (though I hope it does).

In Sunday's paper, hidden in the packet of ads called Smart Source Magazine, was an advertisement for Harbor Freight. This ad includes coupons for: 20% off; Free flashlight; free 25' tape measure; free magnetic tool holder; free pack of cable ties; and, best of all, free multimeter, all just requiring the purchase of something.

Do your neighbors subscribe to any papers? Perhaps you don't know because you haven't chatted much. Isn't it time to renew those friendships - and ask for their extra advertising inserts?

Note that when I went on line, neither HarborFreight.com nor SmartSource.com showed the best coupons, so it seems you really do need the paper coupons. Then again, the coupon doesn't seem to say anything about where specifically it's valid, so if your local out-of-town newsstand carries the Seattle Times... ;-) Hey, just sayin'.

If your region does have the multimeter coupons, please post where you are and where people can find the coupons. Thanks in advance.

I'm guessing you're from the east coast or texas? Because that's generally a transplant thing.

Might want to do a forum search next time.

I had thought about including the phrase "bottom-of-the-line multimeter" in my posting, but decided it was obvious. It's free; of course it's not a Fluke. It is, however, handy to have as a basic extra to rattle around in a car trunk or wherever.

I had been watching HF coupons for some while, waiting for them to go beyond flashlights and tape measures to the junky but, to some of us, handy multimeter. Apparently I stand alone in wanting one. I'm surprised, though, that people are uniformly against something, however low quality, that's free and at least mildly useful. But then why are you wasting your time reading this thread?

They just have terrible Quality Control. I've had to open up and fix most of the multimeters I've picked up there, usually resoldering fuse clips and smt components. I'd just expect to have to fix whatever I bought there first.

On a different note, I'd intended this thread for the Freebies section rather than Hot Deals, but I messed up. Could a mod move this to where it should be?

Even so, I'm fascinated that, given the multiple choices available in down-voting the coupons for flimsy but free, about a quarter of negative votes are "Not a good price." Say what?

I've actually had these last a long time but they have dropped in quality quite a bit. The probe wires are now junk and will come apart by just looking at them!!!!
