Hey guys. This is my first post ever, so be gentle.

After reading tons of overwhelmingly positive reviews I decided to pull the trigger on this card. I did some digging and found this deal to be far better than any other retailer.

Jet.com has the (STRIX-GTX1060-O6G-GAMING) right now for $316.00

Starting Subtotal$316.00
Extra Savings-$10.04 (this is after you opt out of free returns and pay with a visa debit card for an additional 1%)
Promo TRIPLE15 -$30.00
Subtotal$275.96
Shipping Fee$0.00
Estimated Tax$0.00
Order Total$275.96

https://jet.com/product/Asus-Vide...bff03aa17e

Asus also has $20 Mir for the month of October Link Here [ssl-images-amazon.com]

$255.96... not too shabby

According to this chart its not the best 1060 why would you pay MSRP for it?
https://www.reddit.com/r/nvidia/c...able_lets/

Because it has the most fans and might be the most quiet?
Apparently the single fan evga is just as good.

Ya, I got in on the Newegg deal and ordered the EVGA GTX 1060 6GB for $25 less, no MIR.

What are we calling best? That chart is just OEM specs as far as I can tell. I'd much rather go with the Asus Strix than a blower style evga (and did with my 960).
Whether this is worth $250 or not is another question.

How is $256 MSRP? A reference card maybe... but not Strix.

I went with it mainly because the Strix is factory overclocked and runs the coolest/quietest while using only a few more watts. (I prefer not to tinker with voltages etc) Also, the reviews I read said that Asus used the 1070 pcb for the 1060 and argued that It's borderline over-built. The massive heatsink alone was pretty convincing to me.

All personal preferences aside, I only posted this because it was cheaper but a large margin compared to other e-tailers.

I also bought and used the GTX 960 STRIX, but because it was the cheapest option with fanless mode.

That makes sense.

Hold on a 1060 at this price? For a bit more 75-100$ or so you can get a 1070 or at least a 980ti - 1060s are entry level graphics cards. If you're just Flash gaming, sure, look into the 1060, but if you want to play newer games (gears of war 4, Battlefield 1, COD infinite warfare) this card will be on all low settings to get 60 fps. Wait for the 350$ 1070 deal to come back around and pounce on it.

The 1060 can probably play those between medium to ultra 60 fps imo (1080p of course)

gtx 1060 can play most titles at max @ 1080p and in some case even at 1440p

my gtx960 played the bf1 beta at 60fps with high settings. I think the 1060 will hold its own on new titles....

If we're talking 1080p, the 1060 will breeze through it on high/ultra.
