Looks like Adorama is selling the A1M on Amazon same price but with free shipping. [I didn't check the other model.]

The A series is the next step up from the FG, I have a FG820 which I think is a great guitar. I have not played the A3r I just got but from just looking at it you get a nice hard case wood bindings vs plastic with an over all more expensive look and nice finish on the neck that lest you feel the wood. The real gain come with the a3 where you get solid wood all around ebony board and bridge and most importantly SRT pickup and preamp. The A1 has the pickup but just a normal pre amp. The A3 has mike and body modeling so it sounds like is milked when you plug it in direct vs the normal thin sound with no life.

The FGX820 is around 360 so at this 399 it might be worth getting the A1 but at the normal 599 I don't see a reason(again I have not played the A3 yet) to get the A over the FG. From examples on the internet A3 sounds 100x better plugged in vs the FG which is why I went with it.
