Thread Details

There is a misprint in the Kmart ad this week. They have Scott TP on sale for $4.99 however in the fine print it states it includes Scott extra soft 30 double roll usually $13+. Check your Kmart see if they honor error or price match at Walmart/Target
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

I saw a sign near the front of the store today announcing the misprint and saying that they won't be honoring that price for the 30-ct package.

It's no secret. They'll be done once Eddie Lampert has moved all their valuable real-estate to his own companies by loaning the company small amounts of money against the real estate. Then he'll kill the company and take all the real-estate. Huge conflict of interest. Shocked shareholders haven't called him on it.

1. Remember, this is Kmart. I had to take them to the BBB to get them to honor (after the fact) an online listing error for Gala paper towels (regular vs. big pick-a-size rolls). And this was based on my request to be given two additional regular roll packages to make up the difference - not a break the bank request.

2. The point about checking to see if your local Kmart is still open is spot on. The last one in my area currently has the "Everything Must Go" signs up and a goofy looking security guard at the front door. Not that it will be much of a loss, frankly.

3. In general, I'm against major franchises closing, since competition benefits the consumer, but it's really hard to defend Kmart. I just hope that Sears is able to remain afloat. They aren't completely worthless and remain a good choice for buying appliances and tools.

Given that Lampert is currently trying to sell off their Kenmore and Craftsman brand names, that may not be a consideration for long.
