YMMV 20% off GoDaddy renewals

If you're looking for a renewal and a promo code, you probably already know that they only work on new registrations or products.

By luck, I was able to 20% off by:

1. Going into the Manage My Domains list and enter the Domain Settings of the domain you're looking to renew. MAKE SURE your cart is empty otherwise the last step will generate an error.
2. Scroll to the bottom of the page under Additional Settings, you'll see a link to "Transfer domain away from GoDaddy", click that
3. Complete the form, put anything you want or nothing, then submit
4. You should see a page that says "Here's 20% Savings On The Line
Save 20%
When you renew with us for 1 year.
(And stick with the industry leader.)", see attachment
5. Click accept offer and the 20% off will appear in your cart not as a promo code, but simply taken off the renewal base price. Even though it says 1 year only, I was able to renew at $11.99 for three years, not the BEST price but competitive enough for me to not worry about

Good luck

I tried to use on a second domain but offer didn't show the second time.

Used for 5 years on one domain though.

I bought a domain from swagbucks deal. SOB sold my contact information to so many firms, I get few calls per day since then.

I also used the Amex Offers (spend $50, get $20 back) along with the discount. $40 for 5 years is a great deal!

Did not work for me. Never saw the 20% off page. I have a .net domain, maybe this only works on .com?

OP:
I saw 20% offer and I clicked accept offer but still only showed $11.99 per year for renewal. How you renewal 3 years for $11.99?
Thank you!

Not sure if I'm doing something wrong since there have been so many successes, but I didn't see the offer even though all my domains are .com's.

Your price is correct, my post meant that even though the ad implies that you only get the 20% discount for one year, it works for any number of years during checkout. I didn't get 3 years for $11.99, I got 3 years at $11.99/year
