i just put in for IAH- Bangkok and it routes through Domodedovo (Moscow outskirt) and then Changli (Singapore).

But even Manchester, it means it's taking the long way there. (Atlantic instead of pacific)

It might be seasonal? I like going thru Moscow. Going thru Narita and Asia too many people.

I got my ticket next month before and after Thanksgiving back and its $700. Lowest I seen is $650. Others are charging $950 around this time.

I'm the opposite; Russians make sure you know you're not welcomed even for transit. After hours good luck even getting a drink without Russian currency from the vending machines. Don't trust the wifi even when working. On the other hand, I could live a few days in Narita!

End of April through mid May. I used https://matrix.itasoftware.com/ to narrow it down.

I booked via my Chase travel site, FWIW, and still got the decent deal.
