Newegg Rebate UPC Issue: Total Defense Premium Internet Security (5 User) - Offer #TD-10387

TDMVP73 25,142 106,578 October 13, 2016 at 07:11 AM More Newegg Deals
ATTN Newegg Customer Support,

I recently posted a deal for Total Defense Premium Internet Security (5 User): HERE

The deal involved a $30.00 Mail-In Rebate [newegg.com].

The rebate instruction form indicates that this was for:
  • Newegg SKU: 32-413-422
  • Product: Total Defense Premium Internet Security (Model:TLD-10588)
  • UPC: 817839011578

Unfortunately, the products that we received in shipment from Newegg had a different UPC Label. The UPC we received was: 817839010588

The model # above the UPC was correct (TLD-10588), but the rebate processing center will not approve our rebates unless action is done on your part to fix this discrepancy prior to mailing it in.

As you can see here:
Code:
https://totaldefense.4myrebate.com/?oc=TD9-10387
The UPC required on the online registration form (and mentioned on the instruction form) is:
817839011578

I have uploaded an attachment with the UPC received in my shipment for your convenience. I encourage others who participated in that deal to voice their concern here so that we receive an expedient response.

Thanks,
TDMVP73

I agree with TDMVP73. Even I received the product with UPC code: 817839010588. I just called newegg, they asked me to send a copy of my UPC barcode. Let me send them the UPC copy today evening after reaching home. This is the first time I am experiencing such an issue from newegg.

Hopefully, newegg will resolve this without any hassle.

Same issue with my shipment as well...

TotalDefense rebate website indicates UPC:817839011578; however the item from Newegg I received has UPC817839010588.

Thanks TD for bringing up this issue on our behalf.

As mentioned by the others, after activating my software online, I tried registering for the TD rebate at http://totaldefense.4myrebate.com/?oc=TD9-10387. I noticed that on the rebate information page, the model number (TLD-10588) is correct but the UPC (817839011578) does not match the UPC on the product itself or on the rebate information pdf posted at Newegg. The Newegg rebate information pdf (TD9-10387) shows a different UPC (817839010588) which is consistent with the actual product's UPC.

I hope Newegg will resolve this issue as soon as possible. Thanks in advance.

I have the same issue, item has a UPC of 817839010588 but rebate requires 817839011578. For what its worth, if you click on the Print Rebate button and look at the PDF (attached), the image of the UPC shows the correct UPC code.

According to snowcrash, the same issue was present on the July/August 2016 Total Defense Form: HERE

He said his was approved and received in short order.

Others have informed me that Newegg E-mail/Chat Support told them to e-mail in the form as normal and it would be approved. Of course, they always say that... no matter how egregious the error.

It really is quite simple. They need to get in contact with Total Defense and the Rebate Center and UPDATE the instruction form and the registration form to reflect the new UPC. Telling us there is an example UPC that matches the one we received on the instruction form is not sufficient. We don't mail in the instruction form, only the registration form.

Hopefully NeweggSupport replies here tomorrow. They were online at 12:49 PM yesterday. It really shouldn't be a major issue to simply update a UPC # with the rebate center. We were able to get them corrected at TigerDirect with persistence.

Wow didn't know Newegg was on here. I emailed Newegg customer service about the issue. I'll let you you guys know what they say. Hopefully they do something about it.

Lazyness paid off this time, because I hadn't cut out the UPC code for this rebate yet. I was dreading too, because Total Defense rebates take a little longer to do.
