Thread Details

Homedepot.com has a special buy on a solar powered patio table. It comes with a powerbank 5,000mAh portable charger.
4-star review and a very interesting concept. The solar panels charge the powerbank and the powerbank is portable.

wow this seems cool, but a bit pricey and certainly very ugly.

(1) Is it really weatherproof? what about the powerbank?
(2) how slow/fast can one expect today's newest phones and or tablets to work? as slow as wireless charging perhaps?
(3) Wont the table get super super hot and thus leaving the phone on top of it, a diminish the solar capacity and b, cause the phone to be super hot?

Wow. This price for a solar battery table? Cool but very small capacity. Doesn't seem it will last very long keeping it outside. Still could use some more information. Like how many amps, how many ports, max amp per device plugged and how fast it can charge

I want to know it'd say "charging slowly" on my phone or "charging" laugh out loud But yes, I agree with others, too pricey. Maybe for $20.

I got a smaller one which also charges "slowly". I think all solar chargers are alike Smilie

i hope that by next summer more and better products are out for less or at least more reviews on this one

The picture is totally ridiculous. You wouldn't want anything covering the solar cells while charging. Maybe they should make a solar shade for the table instead of a solar table itself.

I hope these don't blow up, putting a battery in the sun just seem like a terrible idea to me

The Samsung battery debacle should not be pass quality products.
The battery is housed in the drawer and doesn't have be in the sun. It is also portable powerbank so you can take it with you.

yes, solar panels waterproof. Powerbank is also sold by itself on Amazon. All they did was install 2 amorphous solar panel, 6W each to charge the Powerbank.

Looks cute. but I think getting a folding solar panel would be better.

The same thing(better looking color) is $49.99 on bed bath and beyond.

18.6" L x 18.6" W x 18" H (same dimension)

Didn't say anything about the watt rating of the solar panel and the mah rating of the battery bank.
