Good deal on a very popular smoker. Lowest price ever via CamelCamelCamel. Snagged one for myself.

$164 via Amazon Prime.

This is the newer model.

The window is useless after your first smoke as well.

I have this exact smoker. It is "A" newer model, but not "THE" newest model. I got mine at Kohl's using a randomly emailed 40% off on any one item coupon they sent me, and it ended up being about $140 (plus cover, which I ordered separately), and I am very happy with the purchase. This is the second lowest price I have ever seen for this particular unit.
Things to note about this smoker:

It does a great job, within its limitations. It may not get quite as hot under the wood chip box as some other models. Use only the smaller hardwood chips, and you should not have any problems. For me, it has worked very well. I use it on a balcony, where excessive amounts of smoke might cause a problem, and while the smoke does trickle out (and smells wonderful), it does not smoke excessively except when you open it. The food comes out very good, with a nice, real smoke flavor. Yes, it has no window, but I actually see this as a benefit, since a window will only become caked with residue from the smoke and food, and will soon become unsightly and basically unusable unless you make a second job out of keeping the window clean every time you use it. This smoker is very similar (same control panel in same place) to the 40" one they sell at the warehouse clubs for $349-$379, except more compact (30" instead of 40"), and no window or stainless-look door. Also, no built-in probe, meat thermometer or other toys like bluetooth. It does regulate internal temperature of the smoker once you set it though, and based upon using my own thermometer, it does a pretty good job. Internally, it looks pretty much identical. I use it often for mostly ribs, but also pork tenderloins, sausages, and other things. I hope this is of some help.

I don't know the differences between these smokers but I recently bought a Masterbuilt 20070910 30-Inch Black Electric Digital Smoker from Walmart b&m for the clearance price of $89. You may want to check you local Walmart. I still haven't open mine.

Good to know! My local (small) Walmart doesn't carry then, but here is a link to the same product on Walmart's site. Notice how it is Gen2.

Seems like a good deal however I spent $240 on my 30" that has the window and the controls at the back about a year and 3 months ago and now (about the 6-8th time I've used it) it shuts off randomly throughout a smoke session. Masterbuilt was happy to take my money on replacement parts but I haven't decided if I want to put more money into it yet.

Most people don't realize these only have a 90 day warranty from Masterbuilt if I recall.

Any big difference between the front control and the top control? Or is it just the placement of the controls?

I bought this last time around for $183. Amazon doesn't price guarantee so I'm out $18 bucks but you can buy it that much cheaper. I've only used it once so far for pork ribs and now I have people calling me asking when I'm smoking some more ribs.

Works great!

Do you smoke ribs with the 30"? I figured the 40" would be less of a hassle to use.

Hoping the 40'' goes on sale. I have a 30'' of a competitors brand but it just isn't big enough for what I need it for. This is a great price though!
