Sadly, SlingTV is totally plagued with latency issues (Amazon Fire). I've gone through the standard rigmarole troubleshooting and it's not my device or high speed network.

It really sucks cause they have all the channels I need to "cut the cord" but I can't live with the horrible response time shifting screens/channels.

TV playback is excellent however, which is the most important part, I never had a delay or hiccup in the high def playback.

Bottomline - I can barely afford to be picky so I'm sticking with cable for another year (much easier for wife/baby too) so i'll hang tight, but as soon as they work out the kinks in the app or the service I plan on going back.

It doesn't seem like you can get the basic $20/month plan.

The cheapest one is the Basic + Kids for $24.99

Does this bill out as an Amazon.com purchase or Sling.tv? I need to know whether to charge to discover card (amazon 5% + double cash back) or Amex (sling tv discount offer).

If it bills like their software subscriptions, Amazon will be the merchant. my Lightroom Creative Cloud subscription is billed by Amazon, not Adobe.

Prefer PS Vue over Sling. I know Sling has been adding additional channels recently so hopefully they stay competitive to keep costs down.

I think some people prefer the interface of Sling over Vue as well. I know it varies per device but I use Roku exclusively and actually have gotten rather comfortable with the Roku/Vue interface.

They just need to iron out some of the "network interruptions" that kick you out of a channel for no apparent reason.

Try Playstation Vue (also available on Fire) with the 7 day trial. I just cut Comcast for it and it's working great for my family with none of the common buffering issues on Sling. You get the benefit of cloud DVR service.

You should look into using it on a newer model Roku Stick (black not purple). I've been using it on a Roku 2 and Stick for past 6 months. No issues at all.
