usually there's combo deals cpu/board/ram, which is what i'm hoping for in the i7 6700k range. i'm keeping around my 1kw psu, sandisk extreme pro ssd as secondary storage, and radeon r7 video card as they are still more than decent performers.

oh heck yes I bought my current PC on bf shell shocked. I was going z170 for same money but they had evga classified + 4790k + 2 sticks of RAM all for like $450 I think. I fell out of chair then bought. at time skylake was over 400 from shortages. CPU was just a good - 4 pcie lane that I do t need. 350cpu and 400 dollar mobo plus we ram for 60 got CPU,mobo for 400. awesome board has plx so I have plenty of pcie anyhow and awesome o board audio saves soundcard cost. in short
hell yes there will be a similar deal for skylake

Don't forget Newegg also has 10% off on select DDR4 memory kits if you need new RAM for these.

Thanks. Bought ASRock H110M-HDS to replace my current HTPC build. Skylake is a great electricity saver.

Can someone recommend a motherboard for a rig running i5-6600K Skylake Quad-Core 3.5GHz and a 6GB nVidia GeForce GTX 1060? The case will be the Cooler Master N400 [newegg.com].

I am eyeing this one:
Thank you!

That motherboard isn't compatible with that processor. You will need an LGA 1151 board.

I'm waiting for Black Friday because of your comments, but do prices really get lower than $55 AR for a quality Z170 motherboard? I was eyeing the ASRock Z170A-X1/3.1 because it was so cheap, but I don't know if I'll get anything similar to that around Black Friday. I already have an i7-6700K thanks to the Intel Retail Edge program, so all I need now is a cheap Z170 motherboard and a 16 GB module of RAM that has a high clock speed and low latency.

I have all of the other parts already, except I'm purchasing the GPU last, since the longer you wait to purchase them, the cheaper they are. Plus, you don't actually need the GPU to get the build up and running.
