If you are looking for an interface like this, I suggest looking at the Behringer UMC204HD. Essentially the same features, half the price. I just got one and I am very happy with it.

I have not used the Scarlet. I was considering the Scarlet until I read lots of reviews on various small interfaces and found the UMC204HD got good reviews and had such a low price. I have a Presonus Firestudio Project, but wanted something smaller to leave on my desk all the time and also be more portable.

I only got the UMC204HD 2 days ago, so I haven't plugged my electric into it yet (I have another device I generally use for electric guitar anyway). I have tested my active bass through it and it sounded nice and clean. Did a quick mic test last night and sounds very clean as well. Headphone out sounds clean and full on my KRK KNS-8400 and Senn HD280. Line out sounds great and I can't hear any line noise from it at all. Everything I've tested so far sounds very nice. Latency is low on my mac. I'm happy.

Tested the UMC204HD tonight with my electric directly connected. There's a little bit of high end roll off with a passive electric guitar. It's not terrible, but comparing to my Presonus Firestudio and Zoom G2Nu (which sound almost identical to each other with my guitar), the UMC204HD is just a little bit dull.

Since i didn't buy it for plugging a guitar into, i am still very happy with it. Everything else about it is solid and sounds very good.

Hope that helps.

Pro Tools First comes w all of these 2nd gens of I'm not mistaken. I own the 6i6, it's fine, but the First edition only allows for 3 projects at a time..which really sucks as your inspiration changes.
