YMMV... Lowe's has the Sylvania Osram Lightify Hub and dimmable white smart light bulb (9.5W) for 26.99. This is 25% off normal price of $35.98. This is a cheap and easy solution for basic home automation lighting and works with Amazon Echo. Also, you can pair Lowe's Iris Version 2 motion sensors and smart plugs with this hub. I paired one of each to mine with no issues. The app probably isn't as robust as some other options but it's fine for what it is. I haven't used Phillips Hue but the products seem comparable.

Looks like it could be local to my store in Issaquah, WA. I checked other stores before posting and saw the same price but now I don't. I added YMMV in the op.

This is awesome, I was just about to pull the trigger on the hub alone for $30 on Amazon. Thanks op.

Edit: $26.99 here in Austin, TX

Looks like its hit or miss. Most locations show a price of $44.98. However those locations throughout the country that have the sale price show $35.98 as the normal price and sale price of $26.99. I hope everyone can find a store that has this on sale that wants one.

Northwest Austin Lowe's (620 & Lake Creek) has them for $44.98 but they still have old signage up from September saying 25% off on all lightify products. So I got it for $36.52 after tax.

The wireless gateway is just the hub that is included. Up to 50 devices can be added to one hub.

You can use the lights with smarthings without this hub.

no need of this gateway, just use smartthings hub, it works wonderfully. I just got one tonight paired instantly. Now I need to figure what I do with all those smart plugs which becomes redundant once the bulb itself is smart now.

Pair guide for smartthings and this bulb. https://support.smartthings.com/h.../214191863

The lights work really well with ST but the hub/app are useful for adjusting bulb light colors and dimming. I bought a bunch of Lightify products in ATL for pickup and shipping.
