Need help buying treadmill holiday season

Geronemo3 918 57 October 17, 2016 at 04:38 PM
Hi Guys.
I am looking for a treadmill I can use everyday specially during winter for 30-60min.
Will me leaving it in basement so noise isn't an issue but I don't want anything very loud.

Don't need anything fancy like a built-in TV screen or alot of of programming as I will be doing my own interval training. I usually find gym treadmills good enough.

Biggest problem I have on CL is they usually come without warranty so I don't know buying it from someone else if it will stop working down the line.

I don't know what brands or models are more reliable. So any help is appreciated. Budget around $800 max.

oh and my max. speed is 25km/h but I will be running around 80-90% of that.

thanks Big Grin

A few things. When you talk about "gym treadmills" are you thinking commercial gym equipment? Because those machines run at least $2,000 and go up to $9,000+.

For a daily use treadmill I would recommend looking in a higher price bracket if at all possible. Your $800 treadmill a) will be loud b) will possibly break after a year or two c) might not be fast enough and d) could have an issue with your interval training (ie: it can't adjust speeds quickly enough to provide you with the appropriate workout).

If you're really going to be using this 30-60 minutes per day and topping out at 25km/h I would suggest a more rugged / commercial grade treadmill.

At the very least go to a local store (I would suggest a fitness store - but a large box retailer would probably work) and walk/run on a machine before you commit to buying it. You should run for at least 2-3 minutes and try all of the speed settings before spending any money.

I came across this:
http://www.costco.com/ProForm-Per...93660.html

Seems to have good review and is backed by costco unmatched warranty and return policy.

They have have Pro 2000 for $899.

Which one would you recommend.

Thanks
