I did put that. Not sure what you are referring. I mentioned it at both in Title and in detailed Spec section.

Is this a decent setup for some grandparents getting rid of an old macbook? They dont need anything but a browser and google docs really. Not sure how the processor is, but the price does look right.

Yeah, all that spec + Touchscreen for $200 would be nice.
I don't know if there's ever been a deal like that though.
I just hope they start making more touchscreen chromebooks.

Factory recertified with 90 days warranty, not a new Product. What is the point of comparing price of recertified products with new products and say available at lower price.

Have one and love it. Processor is fast enough for browsing and streaming video. Occasionally slows when I have a ton of websites open, but overall it's been great.

Construction is good, nice and thin with am aluminum body. Probably not comparable to a MacBook Air, but a step above many of the cheaper ones in this price range.

Camera isn't great, and is completely blown away by my c920 that I normally use for video chat.

Otherwise has all of the positives and negatives of Chrome OS. It's nice and light, it's basically idiot-proof, and yet can't run simple programs like Skype if they're not available. This will get Android support, and you can try it out now with the developer edition, but I haven't tried it yet.

Lastly, it's available (still?) from Jet.com for slightly cheaper if you use the triple15 code (plus probably no tax). The refurb that we got (we were so impressed we got a second one) was basically brand new for $180, so that's something to keep in mind as well.

My father-in-law and my dad, both over 80, and my neighbor who is 75 absolutely LOVE their Acer Chromebooks. Yes, I like the Acer brand -- and had especially good luck with Acer. It is idiot proof and the worst thing that can happen is you tell them how to reset the computer to factory setting -- and they STILL have all their links, etc.

Additionally, instead of driving to help them out of a bind it is VERY easy to walk them through allowing you (tell them not to allow anyone else!) to control their system from your home. Heck, I even PRINT to their printers in their homes.

No-brainer for Seniors. Seriously. I can't recommend Chrome any higher for Seniors.
