FYI, Kohls will only price match in-store to in-store in the area [kohls.com].
(although SDers report in post #13 that you can PM online prices by calling CS)

If you are having trouble getting the 269.99 price set up a BestBuy rewards account (Free) Login into your account before putting the item in your cart. I strongly recomend adding the 4 year warranty so your total would be 334.98. You should also note that this model is being closed out so it is possible the price could continue to fall.

Agree. After owning two Neatos I'm not buying another vacuum with Ni-MH batteries. They're a joke.

Whoever buys this should factor in $40/year in upkeep for new filters, brush and batteries. If you are smart you will get a set of batteries from manufacturer before 6 month warranty expires. That being said my XV-21 is holding up very well. Not sure if I would spend an additional 70 on a new model but I can highly recommend the brand compared to cheaper knockoffs.

If you are very diligent about making sure it does not sit dead (because it can't return to home) for too long, the batteries last up to 10 months. I would not run it more than 3-4 times/week if you want to get the longest life out of the batteries.

There are aftermarket lithium batteries for Neato, priced twice than the original ones though

I would also be careful with lithium, I think some models depend on the gradual lowering of voltage (instead of the sudden drop that you get with lithium) to detect that it's time to head back to base. I've heard stories where people replaced the battery with a lithium and it would never make it back to base to recharge.

i use the lithium batteries in my old xv-21. they've been working well for about 7 months. but on hot days, it will say it needs to cool off before starting. then i pull it off the base and give it a few minutes, reboot it and it goes. hopefully they actually last a long time. they don't have a much longer run time like they advertise, at least not after 1 or 2 runs.

I purchased lithium replacements for my XV series and have been using it for over a year with no issues.

The ones I bought aren't just bare lithium batteries wired to connect in place of the original batteries. They have circuitry to handle the charging and discharging of the lithium batteries.

My understanding is that they report conditions like battery temperature and such to the XV system to simulate the OEM battery behavior so charging and discharging is handled properly.

Call customer service. It's very straightforward and they do match online pricing. I've done it several times before on vacuums and other appliances. Many others have as well if you go back and look at previous threads. I realize this conflicts with what their policy states on the Kohl's site, but CS agents have even admitted the policy is incorrect and they do in fact match other retailer's online pricing.

Please remove that from the Wiki.

Customer service is great, product not so much. I've burned through a few replacements over the years, battery, wheel, you name it. Had a botvac 85 having some screen blackout issue after the warranty expired, they shipped me a brand new D85 (newer model) at no cost, finger crossed that it lasts....
