This is why I bought Mi 1S turns out it doesn't have this function. Mad Now I have to buy this, it's another $30.. I think Band 2 was $22 recently, or was that a different band.

the band 2 has idle alert (i'm wearing one now). as for the smart alarm, i think you just need to set a alarm for it. the band can have preset alarms to vibrate every morning (I have it one for 730am) which should function independently of your phone (i haven't remembered to test with my phone's bluetooth off overnight).

there is also a application and phone notification link to vibrate the band.

Also, they seem pretty good on update on updates .. I've seen 2 firmware updates for it in the last ~4 months I've had it. The 2nd update they pushed about 1 week ago, it enabled the band to show DATE as well (minor update but I found it useful). Also, enabled some better settings with the sleep monitor that requires more battery usage.

The battery life on it is quite good, I can get 10-14 days with a single charge. Though, I am only wearing it without usage at the Gym or anything.

Wakes you up during light sleep in a set time frame before the alarm.

That is not the same thing as a smart alarm. They've renamed it "Intelligent" alarm because they can no longer market this band as having a smart alarm. I'm glad they did that, because A LOT of people have bought this thinking it still has the smart alarm.

I hope you didn't buy this thinking you're getting a smart alarm. You're not.

what is the purpose of waking you up with an alarm if you're in light sleep? I'm curious ... mainly because I don't get deep sleep enough and feel tired too often.

The idea is if you're awakened during light sleep instead of deep or REM sleep, then you won't experience sleep inertia so much and feel so groggy/angry/etc. It's marketed as being a more natural way to wake up.
