For us "business" people, that's true.

However, the smallish company I work for spends roughly $12K-$15K/mo on internet/phones, travel, and advertising. This could be hugely profitable for him if I can convince the owner to switch to this from AMEX.

But the Ink Plus already gives 5x on phone and internet. So this is worse (unless you're dropping over 50k a year on that specifically I guess).

Fair point on advertising (though honestly I can't figure out how people spend such insane amounts on internet ads- aside from using adblock, even the ones I still end up seeing I pay 0 attention to and I've been using the net since before it had pictures)

Travel is equal to the CSR so a wash for folks who don't need business card features but a plus for those who do at least.

Both my wife and I took advantage of the Sapphire card deal from earlier this year. Wonder if they'll approve us for this card as well...

Nothing to get around- if you say you have a business then you have one.... simple as that. You don't need registered articles of incorporation or anything to have a business.

Amex Simply cash Plus already has 3x advertising and 3x shipping... only if you use fedex it is 8% because of OPEN. Not to mention they have 5x office supplies, 5x telecom, and no annual fee with a card that caps at 50,000$ per category... This chase card sucks aside from the UR Bonus that is only 300$ better.

simply cash is 3x for advertising OR shipping. But, I agree it is fairly specific, for me personally that is huge as I spend a lot in both of those categories but use simplycash for shipping. I just have a feeling chase is going to out compete amex.

Amex Simply cash is a cash reward card

So its 5x categories suck compared to ink plus which is 5x UR, not just 5 cents on the dollar...It also sucks because it only does wireless phone at 5c/$1- Ink Plus is 5x UR for not just wireless phone but also landline, internet, and cable TV services

Granted there's a $95 annual fee, but if you do any significant spending in those 5x categories you're getting a TON more value in rewards than the Amex card you cite
