Ideally you want to be below 50db if you want to be quiet. At 50 you hear water splashing and a light hum. This one is terribly loud. But it's under 200 so don't expect much. It's a landlord dw. Fills a hole and gets renters. Don't expect it to wash either. It's more of a dish wetter than a dish washer

Can anyone comment on how good the dishwasher is? I thought lower decibels and stainless tub were the two most important things. This has neither, 62 is not as low as most

If you run the dishwasher at night, i would highly recommend against getting this one due to the high db noise level. Most energy efficient dish washers now can take up to two hours to run a cycle. We had one that was 55 db and it was so loud it bothered us while watching tv or trying to sleep. Ended up replacing it with a lower 42 db dishwasher after just one year.

I wouldn't worry about lack of stainless Tub at this price point, but the noise level is a deal killer imo.

At 62 dB this dishwasher is going to be fairly loud, but as someone pointed out, it's less than $200. If you're on a budget, a cheapskate, or have a rental, this is a great price for a functional dishwasher. If you want bells and whistles, a quiet appliance, and some more options for washing (and have the money), look for something more expensive.

We spent $800 on our Kenmore Elite eight years ago, and we're about to replace it. It still runs, but the soap dispenser broke last year. When I replaced it with a new part ("upgraded" design), it doesn't work properly anymore. It's also all black while the range and fridge are stainless. Since we'll have our house on the market in the spring, we're going to swap it out for something new. I saw some 50% models at HH Gregg for $400-500, ranging from Bosch to Samsung.

If you're going to sell your house in less than a year, why not buy this unit and limp along on your existing unit until you list it for sale. Then install this unit just before the open house and leave all the tags on it so prospective home buyers see a brand new unit.
