If I were you, I would wait til MB Pro release. It's nothing to lose here. II've been following up with Xps Deal alert here and I see Xps 13 deal almost every month.

I used a 35% off coupon + Chat (get extra 2% off) + Dell DELL Preferred Acount (get 10% credit back).
Just check dell outlet few days a week. Don't even look at their stock on website. Chat with sale representative, they have real-time stock inventory.
Wish you luck.

Extremely doubt it. This has an i5. Refurbished last gen models with i5 typically sell for $720-740 on Ebay, with a 1 year manufacturer warranty. So in around 6 months you can pick up an i5 refurb 9360 for $750 ish but that's the lowest you'll see. This and the Surface Book are the best Windows laptops, people don't mind paying a premium for the best.

From independent testing, on low brightness, you can actually hit that. When the hurricane knocked my power out, I turned brightness all the way down and got over 20 hours out of mine. Most review websites use the QHD version, but anandtech is a very respected hardware review website, and you can look at these results.

Those are from the very 1st gen XPS 13 and the 2014-2015 Macbook models, but it gives you a sense of how ridiculously good the battery life on this must be, if it's about 20% better than the first gen 9343: this is easily 3x the battery life of an rMBP, and I can attest to that in real life against a 2014 rMBP that I also frequently use. That's one of the reasons I will be getting either the 9360 or wait for another refresh to upgrade my current XPS. I don't mind the price of Apple products if they have something to offer, but the only realistic advantage on a rMBP is for a status symbol and I don't need that. I may be biased with my developer background but I also much prefer Windows or Linux over macOS for productivity - the combined dock is really bad for productivity when you have a million screens of code and reference open and you need to flip through them often. Battery life on an rMBP goes from bad to worse when you install Windows on it unfortunately.

Only with bad drivers. Touchpad is comparable to a rMBP that I frequently use, perhaps a bit better if they went for a smoother finish but that's personal preference. Dedicated GPUs are a tradeoff - most people don't use them besides as bragging points. Thinkpad 13's are really thick, no idea how they qualified them as Ultrabooks. They're pretty much every way worse than an XPS 13, including the fact that Lenovo has a history of putting in security backdoors twice now. I'd never purchase a Lenovo product for that reason alone.

Tabs are very easy, took me 10 minutes. However, the 120 SSD is probably over SATA instead of M.2 like the 256 GB ones, so make sure the form factor is explicitly stated to support this laptop before you do it.

It's actually a pretty decent deal for the Kaby Lake chip. SSD can be changed easy.
I was able to snagged an old Xps 13 FHD i5 Skylake from Dell outlet for $400.
Battery on Kaby - FHD is definitely better.

I want this or a Macbook. Always been a Windows guy, though. So pricey, even with this discount. Any chance, it will go down further, during thanksgiving sales? 700 dollars would seem reasonable to me.

From the reviews I've read it's the longest battery life in a windows laptop thanks to the improvements in Kaby Lake and a slightly larger battery compared to last gen.

882 and not even a dedicated gpu? I'll go for the 7559 instead.
You might as well go for a desktop.

While probably nowhere near 18h in real life, battery in this things is pretty good (especially the FHD models). You can also get an external power bank that gives you extra time.
