First Post... I just bought the Mighty Mule 500HD Gate Opener at Home Depot on clearance. It was $108.03 with regular price being $429. It appears to be in-store only because I did a search on the home depot app and didn't see them. YMMV of course.

My receipt is several posts down.

Awesome find! Smart move to buy three of them!!!!!(please remove any identifying stuff from your reciept (just in case))!
By any chance was it marked as clearance at the store?

if the price ends in xx.x3 then it is clearance. that also means it's probably the lowest price before they pull it from the shelves. usually this means 75% off

Guessing this is probably a return that got discounted. Highly doubt this can be replicated.

From my past experience, I'd say 90% of clearance items are store specific, unless it's the after xmas aisle crap they're trying to get rid of. Or all their patio stuff after summer is over. etc...

Not sure why people TU these YMMV threads ... like the toilet yesterday. Doubt anyone was able to get it at the same price.

I appreciate him posting this as it gives others a chance to try to replicate the deal. Even if it is not the exact same price.

But I have seen these in stock at my Home Depot, so will swing by to see if they happen to have them clearanced out as I am looking for two and at this price I would purchase them now even though I am not ready to install them yet.

Yeah, I try reasoning with people lately about what makes a "thumbs up" deal. People around here seem to blindly thumb up a deal just because they like it without finding out if there's any substance. It never used to be that way.
And don't even get me started on what makes it to the front page anymore.

So what should happen? He went to the store found a good deal and shared it with the community. Out of 4k views he currently has +8. Thanks for adding value to the thread. *roll eyes*

If you want to show appreciation for the deal being posted then spread some rep points around, but thumbing up a single store clearance deal just wastes everyone's time and gas. People see all the thumbs up and assume it's a national thing which they can replicate.

You could always call the store before driving around to the different locations. Admittedly clearance items stock is hit and miss if the clerk only checks the computers. For them to be sure they have to walk to the item on the shelf, which, if they are busy can be tough to get them to make that journey.
