Great deal on an inverter generator.
You can also try to see if Home depot will price match the Lowes 10% movers coupon and save more money.
Thanks.

Great price. Our work has one of these for our home football tailgates and it handles everything we can throw at it without issue. Super quiet as well. Thus far we have about 50+ hours on it and no complaints.

Why do inverter generators always seem to stop at around 2000 watts? Where are the much larger ones?

Is the design inherently unable to scale up?

Home Depot has a 3,100 watt inverter generator as one of today's special buys for $699. Larger capacity are coming to market now. Also, you can parallel like capacity inverter generators to double the output, using a simple and relatively inexpensive kit.
Inverter generators are more expensive than standard generators due to the complexity of the DC generator to AC Inverter, and the electronics involved to produce clean output for sensitive electronic devices, eg: PC's, TV's, etc.

Honda has a 7KW one. $4k, though.

Both are good. I have not used a Wen but I do own the Ryobi. I would use Fuel stabilizer and just change the oil once a year. I also run it twice a week for about 20 mins just to make sure everything is in working order.

Thank you, this is exactly what I had in mind when I asked for much higher wattage.

Is Ryobi a reliable brand? I've never heard of them. How do their generators compare to Wen or Hondas?

I've owned this generator for over a year, bought it at $399 on one of their daily deals. I use it about two or three times a week while remodeling a house. It runs great and quiet compared to a normal generator, and just barely sips gas on its 'auto idle' function.

Though, I had to take it into HD's tool rental/repair center four times for the same issue, before Ryobi finally replaced the carb on my unit. It was extremely annoying dealing with HD/Ryobi, especially since they said it was bad gas the first two or three times (I only use fresh ethanol free in small motors). So, definitely test it out during the warranty period!

Even with the hassle, I love this little guy. Lightweight and can handle plenty. With hurricane Matthew, we loaded this in the back of the SUV and headed north!

any generator can be connected to a transfer switch. it is all in the output IE this generator would not be a good choice since its only 1800 watts 15 amp might be 20amp i cant remember so that's basically one breaker (circuit) in your whole panel. you really need a larger model to do a transfer switch so you can run multiple breakers (circuits) at the same time to make it worth the trouble and expense
