We have a 2011 BMW X3 and today in the mail received a notice that the BMW Assist would be discontinued at the end of the year due to "upgraded technology" Due to the inconvenience they offer 3 options:
- $300 BMW lifestyle and accessories voucher
- $200 VISA gift card
- Retrofit of new technology in vehicle
The website: https://bmwassistoffer.com/sunset/vin.htm
You must enter the last 7 of your vehicle's VIN (and already have BMW Assist on the vehicle) and then schedule an appointment with a dealership to deactivate the service.
Not the slickest deal ever, but an FYI to those it can help. Works for me since I plan on trading the vehicle beginning of year anyways :-)
