Update 11/1 - A bunch of other U.S. retailers have just started selling this or will sell it in the coming week. Best Buy [bestbuy.com], B&H [bhphotovideo.com], and ABT [abt.com]. Right now, PC Richard is still the best deal with the $25 off newsletter code and no tax for almost all states.

Costco US carries it as well $329

Costco Canada and several other large Canadian retailers carry it. Not sure why only PC Richard has it here in the U.S., but from what I could find it's nearly identical to the UN40KU6300 here in the states. (EDIT - Brandsmart [google.com] will be carrying soon as well in the U.S.) Owners of both models on the AVS forums state the only difference is that the 6290 series doesn't have Bluetooth or a Smart Remote. The Smart Remote I have on 6300 isn't anything special anyway.

I love my UN40KU6300 for PC use. Typing on it right now. At $330 and no tax in almost all states, this is a steal! Just remember, HDR on the 6300/6290 series is 8-bit, not 10-bit as it should be. It's really just Samsung marketing BS, so if HDR is really important to you hold out for a true HDR10, 10-bit set.

Free Shipping is available on the Samsung. Probably should update the OP to make sure SDers know.

Is the 40" Samsung unique to PC Richard? Difficult to find reviews on the 6290, but there are a lot of 6300 out there.

Thanks for the explanation. I've seen the 6300 in-stores and the quality is pretty stunning. Would have hopped on it if it was true HDR capable but I'm looking for something around this size and price-point that is HDR10. Thanks for saving me some time.

I'm kind of a Sammy lover - but I would be interested in the Hisense - this is for a family tv. Is it worth the jump?

FYI - the sign up worked, I got my welcome code in minutes after signing up.
