If you want some serious, professional string lights, these are the ones for you! Costco had these on sale last year (same price) and I bought 3 of them to string together. They are high quality and as a result weight a lot more than most other string lights. I installed mine with a guide wire to support the weight. I highly recommend these.

How much are the individual bulbs when they eventually fail and where do you get them?

ok: call and ask for inventory check on the name and item number beloe the name on the webpage.
better: check yourself, these lights may be by the other lights, or they may be in the seasonal stuff in the middle.

To answer a different question, the best way to secure these costco.com deals is to just buy them online. Shipping is usually free, but even if it isn't shipping is refundable in-warehouse. If you find the same item in-warehouse, you can just return the more expensive purchase if there is a difference.

They also have these with white cabling, though its sold out online. I checked a few of my local stores which only had the black cables. (Maybe you will have better luck than I did)

Led version worth the extra money? I'm using these above a pool so they might be used just a few hours max per week in the summer

Good deal.

I'm waiting for a deal on an LED version, preferably not made my Feit. Feit's quality control is terrible on CFLs and now I'm seeing it on their LEDs as well, (although the incandescents in this thread are fine according to the reviews.)

Good deal, but at 1440 Watts (24 x 60w) I think I'll pass.

Can't speak to Feit's QC, but the included bulbs are not meant to bring daylight to your yard, they're just 11w each (24*11= 264W). About the same as 2-3 flood lights.

I see, that makes sense. One line further down in the details on Costcos web page says "60W", but you're right, that would be too bright (24 x 60W bulbs) on the patio!
