subway used to be a deal darling with 5 dollar footlongs.. not any more. prices are way up, the sandwiches are shells of their former self.. with far less meat.. thinner slices of cheese.. and the buns.. omg.. about half the actual bread they used to have.. still technically a "foot long" (mostly) but much less in the other directions. any sort of buy one get one that involves also buying something else like overpriced fountain beverage at regular price -- sorry, not a deal.

Looking forward to another nasty look from the local proprietor that I always get when using the app to get a freebie.

Definitely. I went the other day for the first time in a while and was pretty shocked that they use almost half the meat they used to. Now they want you to buy a "deluxe" for extra, which just makes it the way it was previously. No thanks.

This isn't a bad deal considering you can get 2 feet of sandwich and a small drink for about 8-9 bucks. Plus you can get a free cookie by submitting a 1 minute survey on your phone using a verification code on your paper receipt. You can also ask for extra veggies for nothing extra and unlimited side dips. Competitors like Which Wich and Jimmy John's have arguably better quality but double the price when you put this deal into perspective.

I am guilty of going to Wingstop for food, then hopping over to Subway next door for 2 free sides of their chipotle southwest sauce. It's too good!

I do miss the $5 footlongs though...

I eat at Subway a LOT, and this is a great deal. Normally you can get about 16% savings using their promos. This one on the other hand, is about 40%.

I haven't been in a while due to my local spot's quality declining over the the last few years, but I thought they still had BOGO every Tuesday with this same deal. If that's out the window, I don't know why I'd ever stop there over Jimmy Johns, Publix, or Firehouse.
