Here's how I was able to get the new LCP II from Cabelas for $215+tax. It takes a bit of work, but was worth it for a newly released firearm that I don't expect to be this cheap anytime soon.

1. Purchase 3 of the $100 gift cards for $85 each (https://slickdeals.net/f/9241463-cabelas-gift-card-100-for-85-ebay?v=1&src=SiteSearch) - these take about a week to arrive, I already had some from the last deal
2. Purchase a filler at Cabelas - something you need, like .380 ammo
3. Fill out survey on receipt for $20 off $150
4. Place gun on layaway with $150 down: $130 from the gift cards and the $20 coupon
5. Fill out survey on receipt from layaway purchase for $20 off $150
6. Pay for the rest of the gun with gift cards and coupon

End result is a LCP II for $215 spent with $40 remaining worth of Cabelas gift cards (less any tax). Some might argue that it's $255 spent for the LCP II and $40 in GCs, but they might as well be cash to me, given I was going to pick up additional ammo anyways.

I didn't intend to do the layaway piece and second coupon initially, but the state's background check system was down, forcing the layaway and adding some inconvenience, but saving me $20.

So you could do this with any gun (or any product at all) as long as it costs enough, right?

Yeah... I had some luck. I already had the gift cards from one of the previous deals and I live right next to a Cabelas, so coming back for the layaway, due to the background check system being down wasn't a big deal.

Yes, I pick up the gift cards a lot when they're available for this reason. Got a Savage 12FV a while ago for $185 doing something similar, something like $100 off in store + $100 rebate + $45 GC savings + $20 Cabelas bucks coupon.

Pretty good deal, but a lot of work. I still would prefer the previous gen LCP for the size and smaller sights.

good work, and great explanation. my thumb is up to you

as for smaller sights, get a keltec. it was good enough for ruger to copy Smilie
I just retired mine after more than 10 years of edc in favor of something a little bigger. (and because it's small enough that my wife likes carrying it)

Good deal if you have a Cabelas super close. Otherwise, the multiple trips to save $20 each visit is not worth the time spent

The "original" being a Keltec, right? Smilie
