Actually there is. I got a bunch of those Tribute 5s for free after I activated. Ting said they should be clear to activate with them in a few days. I will put it in their checker and then try Ring+. For some reason if Ring+ has issues with the IMEI, you run it through Ting and it will then recognize it.

Very unlikely, they want you buy a much more expensive phone!

I will pick a few up tomorrow if you can. Can you confirm? I would not expect these to pass the FED checks...

Can anyone confirm?

I activated this phone towards the end of October and got this message:
Hello James,

Thank you so much for your patience while we worked with Sprint to determine the eligibility of your LG Tribute 5 (LS675) (MEID **************) to come to Ting.

Sprint advised that we should be able to activate it on 11/20/2016 as the phone will have passed its FED (Financial Eligibility Date) at that point. I will reach out to you around that time to see if you're still interested in setting up an account with us.

If, however, you bought the phone from eBay, Amazon, Craigslist or another third-party, I would recommend that you return the phone and seek a refund since there are no guarantees that the phone will be unflagged for you and your return period may have expired by then.

I know this is a lot of work, especially when we aim to make moving providers a clean and easy process. If we are not successful in moving this phone to Ting right now, we will happily explore some other alternatives with you. Feel free to respond directly to this email or else give us a shout on + 1844-841-5579 once you have decided what you would like to do and we will help you every step of the way.

Thanks for the info. It will pass FED as long as it's active on Boost for at least 30 days?
